The Chinook’s Edge School Division has been offering career route learning opportunities to students for several years. These opportunities allow students to gain practical skills and knowledge in a specific field or industry, preparing them for employment in that field.
In contrast, Chinook’s Edge students who take part in CTS and dual credit learning are finishing their entry-level requirements at an average age of 18 years old.

The two students were part of a group of 12 students who were selected from over 200 applicants to participate in the program.
A New Generation of Heavy Equipment Technicians
The Heavy Equipment Technician program at Olds College is a unique and specialized training program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the heavy equipment industry. The program is a collaboration between Olds College and the heavy equipment manufacturers, providing students with hands-on training and industry connections.
Program Highlights
The school division is divided into three main areas: 1) the North Zone, 2) the Central Zone, and 3) the South Zone. The North Zone consists of 14 schools, the Central Zone consists of 13 schools, and the South Zone consists of 13 schools.

The division has undergone several name changes over the years, with the most recent name change occurring in 2018 when the division was renamed from the “Central Alberta School Division” to “Chinook’s Edge School Division”.
